Aspect Ratio Lock — Canvas-Level Default

Set a default aspect ratio at the canvas level and lock it for all video generations.

The aspect ratio lock lets you define a default video aspect ratio for the entire canvas. Once set, every new video generation uses that ratio automatically, and the lock prevents accidental resizing.

Setting the Default Ratio

Open the canvas settings panel and locate the Aspect Ratio section. Choose from the preset options. The default applies to every video node created afterward.

Open the canvas settings panel and locate the Aspect Ratio section. Choose from the preset options or enter a custom value. The default applies to every video node created afterward.

Available presets include:

  • 16:9 — widescreen, standard for most platforms
  • 4:5 — vertical, optimized for mobile feeds
  • 1:1 — square, good for social thumbnails
  • 9:16 — full vertical, for short-form video
  • 4:3 — classic, for presentations or reference

Lock / Unlock Toggle

The lock toggle sits next to the ratio selector. When enabled:

  • New video nodes inherit the canvas ratio automatically
  • The ratio dropdown is dimmed to indicate it is enforced

When the lock is off, each video node can have its own independent aspect ratio, and the canvas default acts only as a starting suggestion.

Why Lock?

The lock exists to prevent accidental ratio changes during fast-paced editing. If you are building a campaign where every clip must be 16:9, the lock guarantees consistency without requiring you to check each node individually.

Clearing the Default

To reset, set the canvas ratio back to Auto in the settings panel. New video nodes will then use their own internal default (usually 16:9), and the lock is automatically disengaged.

The aspect ratio lock is a small safeguard that keeps your output uniform when consistency matters most.
