The Face Three-View tool generates a face reference sheet with front, side, and back views in a consistent art style. It focuses on facial features, head shape, and hairstyle — perfect for character designers, portrait artists, and game developers who need detailed face references.

When to Use Face Three-View

  • Character design — establish a character's facial appearance for approval
  • Game asset pipelines — provide face reference sheets for 3D modelers

How to Access

Select an image node containing a face or portrait, then click the Face Three-View button in the toolbar's view sheets menu. The panel opens with a prompt field for additional instructions.

Input Fields

Prompt (optional): Describe specific facial features, expressions, or styling details. For example, "detailed eyes, sharp jawline, braided hairstyle" or "young woman with freckles, curly hair, neutral expression."

Understanding the Output

The tool generates a single image with three face panels:

  • Front view — the face looking straight ahead
  • Side view — profile view, typically facing right
  • Back view — the back of the head, showing hair and head shape

All three panels maintain consistent facial proportions, skin texture, hair style, and lighting.

Tips for Consistency

  • Describe facial features in detail — eye shape, nose bridge, jawline
  • Specify hair length, texture, and parting for back-view accuracy
  • Mention skin tone and any distinguishing marks (freckles, scars, moles)
  • For expressions, describe the same expression or "neutral expression" for all views
  • Use clear front-facing reference images as input for best results

Best Practices

  • Start with a well-lit front-facing portrait as the source image
  • Provide detailed hair descriptions for accurate back views
  • Iterate on the description if facial proportions shift between views
  • Combine with Character Three-View for full body + face consistency
