Character Compliance — Portrait Consistency Check

Character compliance ensures every generated character in your project matches an approved reference portrait. When brand or campaign consistency matters, this verification step catches mismatches before they reach the final output.

How It Works

The workflow is a three-step process:

1. Submit — upload or select a reference portrait for a character
2. Check — the system compares each generated video frame against the reference
3. Pass / Fail — each video node receives a clear compliance result

Setting a Reference

Right-click a character video node and choose Set Reference Portrait. Upload a clean front-facing image of the character. The system uses this as the baseline for all future compliance checks on that character.

You can set different references for different characters in the same project. Each character node tracks its own compliance status independently.

Compliance Badge

Each video node displays a badge indicating its compliance status:

• Green check — the generated character matches the reference within tolerance
• Red cross — the generated character deviates from the reference
• Gray dash — no reference has been set for this character yet

Badges appear in the corner of each node and are visible at a glance in the canvas overview.

Bulk Check

After making batch edits or regenerating multiple nodes, use Run Compliance Check from the canvas toolbar. The system checks all character nodes that have a reference assigned and updates their badges simultaneously.

Handling Failures

When a node fails compliance:

1. Review the side-by-side comparison of the generated frame and the reference
2. Adjust the generation prompt to add more character-specific descriptors
3. Regenerate the video and re-run the check
4. If failures persist, consider updating the reference portrait or using a more detailed reference image

Best Practices

• Use a clean, well-lit reference with a neutral expression
• Avoid heavily stylized references if you need realistic output
• Update the reference when a character design is finalized late in the process
• Run a compliance sweep before exporting the final sequence
