Seedance 2.0 Character Compliance — Verify Characters Before You Generate
Check whether Seedance character images meet compliance requirements directly on the canvas, before starting video generation.
When you generate Seedance 2.0 videos, character images need to meet specific compliance requirements. Previously, you would only find out about non-compliance at generation time — and even if credits were refunded, the interruption still broke your flow.
The Seedance 2.0 Character Compliance feature changes that. Now you can verify characters directly on the canvas, before hitting generate.
How it works
Every image node that contains a character (any image sourced from an HTTP URL) now shows a compliance state:
- Unverified — no check has been run yet
- Checking — compliance check is in progress
- Passed — the character is compliant and ready for use
- Failed — the image did not pass the compliance check
Two ways to verify
Toolbar Button
Select any image node and click the "Verify characters" button in the floating toolbar. A compliance check request is sent immediately, and the result updates in real-time.
Context Menu
Right-click on an image node and select "Verify characters" from the context menu. This is especially handy when working in a crowded canvas.

Visual feedback at a glance
Once a character passes compliance, a green checkmark badge appears next to the node title — both on the canvas node itself and in the sidebar node list. If a check is in progress, a spinning indicator keeps you informed.
When the check completes, a toast notification tells you the result. If it fails, the specific failure message is shown so you know what to fix.
Why it matters
- Reduce rework — confirm character readiness before generation instead of discovering problems at submission time
- Stay in flow — verify without leaving the canvas or switching to another tool
- Clear feedback — status is always visible at a glance, and failure messages tell you exactly what went wrong
The compliance mark is one of those quality-of-life features that makes the Seedance 2.0 workflow feel more polished and predictable. Give it a try on your next character-driven project.
