Seedance 2.0 Video Ratio Lock — Consistent Outputs, Fewer Clicks

When a canvas is generating multiple Seedance 2.0 shots, ratio drift becomes a real production problem. One clip ends up in 16:9, another in 9:16, and someone has to catch the mismatch later in editing.

Seedance 2.0 Video Ratio Lock solves that at the canvas level. Instead of setting the ratio over and over on every video node, you define a default once and let the canvas keep the workflow consistent.

Before vs. after

Before: every Seedance 2.0 generation asks for another ratio decision, which makes multi-shot work slower and more error-prone.

After: the canvas already knows the default ratio, and locked Seedance 2.0 nodes follow it automatically.

What it does

When your canvas settings define a default aspect ratio and lock mode is enabled, every Seedance 2.0 video node on that canvas follows that ratio automatically. No extra dropdown pass, no repeated cleanup, no guessing whether the current node still matches the rest of the sequence.

Why it matters

• Consistency across your pipeline. Every clip shares the same aspect ratio, so your final cut comes together without mismatched frames.
• Fewer interruptions. Remove one more decision from the generation workflow so you can stay in your creative flow.
• Team alignment. When multiple people work on the same canvas, a locked ratio prevents accidental changes that could throw off the entire project.

How it works

Open the canvas settings panel, choose a Seedance 2.0 default ratio, and turn on lock mode. From that point forward:

1. The ratio becomes a canvas-level default instead of a node-by-node choice
2. New Seedance 2.0 video nodes inherit that ratio automatically
3. Collaborators on the same canvas stay on the same format without manual policing

When a video node is using a locked canvas ratio, the prompt panel also makes that state explicit so you do not have to wonder whether the current node is still aligned with the canvas default.

One implementation detail matters here: adaptive can still be a default, but it should not be used together with lock mode. Lock mode is meant for explicit, repeatable output formats like 16:9 or 9:16.

A small change, a big difference
