Seedance 2.0: Lock Multiple Shots to One Aspect Ratio
Choose and lock a default ratio in canvas settings. Adaptive works differently from a fixed 16:9 or 9:16.
Mixing landscape and portrait shots means cropping people or adding borders later. For a fixed-format project, set the canvas ratio before creating nodes.
Decide landscape or portrait first. Set an explicit canvas ratio, enable the lock, then create a Seedance 2.0 video node to verify it. Check existing nodes and other models separately.

Car commercial: keep the car in landscape, recompose for portrait
Imagine a coastal-road car ad: full-car, wheel-detail and headlight shots all delivered in 16:9. Lock the canvas to landscape and verify a new node. For 9:16, plan a separate composition instead of cutting off the nose or tyres. This is an AI teaching image; Recreate tests image composition and does not enable the Seedance canvas ratio lock.

Open canvas settings, choose an explicit ratio and enable the lock. Newly created Seedance 2.0 video nodes in that canvas inherit the ratio.

Verify the lock in the video node
The prompt panel shows whether the node is locked by the canvas, so teammates can see that the canvas controls the output format.
When to use ratio lock
Use it for multi-shot sequences, ad sets or any project requiring consistent framing. It reduces repeated ratio selection and the chance of new shots using the wrong format.
Adaptive and ratio lock
Adaptive can be the canvas default, but should not be combined with locking. A lock needs an explicit, repeatable format. Choose a fixed ratio first so the intended frame is unambiguous.
Before generating
Create one Seedance 2.0 node and confirm inheritance before a larger batch. If a node was deliberately configured separately, inspect its current prompt-panel settings rather than assuming it changed.
Once the ratio is set, check continuity between shots.
